A concordance to the Code of Canon Law, 1917 edition, arranged in sections by part of speech rather than in a straight alphabetical list. The use of the word in a phrase or sentence is not quoted; rather, through a complex system of symbols, the grammatical and syntactical use only is given. No words are omitted. "The impression is inevitable that all the complicated and refined work of grammatical analysis performed by Lauer gives too much, and does not give enough… . The need of the student to obtain semasiological information has been completely ignored" (Jurist, III [April, 1943], pp. 270-79).
